Episode 001 – Pilot Episode

In this episode I introduce myself and the podcast. I tell you a little about my running history as well as what the podcast will bring.

The first handful of episodes will follow my training for the 2013 Philadelphia Marathon. For my training I will be using the Hansons Marathon Method, which I will talk more about in the next episode. Use the Amazon link below if you would like to purchase your own copy.

    Hey Bill,

I’m currently training for my first half-marathon. It will also be my first ever race–go half or go home I guess. I look forward to hearing how your training goes.

“Go half or go home” I like that! The half marathon is quickly becoming the most popular race distance. Which race are you training for?

Keep me up to date on your training. I would also like to hear how it goes and of course link to a race report if you do one!

So far training is going good. Finding that my cardio is good to go, but man my legs are not loving all this new impact. Much ice…so much ice. One thing I’m curious on, and might be a good topic…what do you do for during run nutrition on longer runs? I read somewhere that I should take in around 50g of carbs an hour, not sure if I want to use gels, beans, etc or if “normal” food would be better, I’ve heard fig newtons, pretzels, gummy candy….what do you think?
